Gv is a melodic rap artist from Hackney, East London, known for blending raw lyricism with infectious hooks. Rooted in the grit of UK rap and enriched by Afro-influenced rhythms, his sound is both emotionally vulnerable and musically sharp, somewhere between J Hus and NorthSideBenji, yet unmistakably his own.

After a three-year hiatus, Gv returned to music with renewed clarity and purpose, sparked by a 2024 creative development programme that reconnected him with his voice and vision. Since then, he’s released Money Trees, a breakout single marking his evolution; Malarkey, showcasing his vocal range and melodic control; Stand Tall, a testament to his character that delves deeper into his story; 2025 Freestyle, a raw and reflective release highlighting his hunger and dedication to his craft; and most recently, Wont Fail, a reflective and driven track capturing his focus and mindset as he steps into a new chapter.

He's delivered standout performances at showcases hosted by 9Bills, Gabos, Brick Lane Jazz Festival and Dalston Live Radio. He’s received co-signs from artists and industry leaders like Tiffany Calver, Jermain Jackman and Nippa, and has been featured across platforms including BBC 1Xtra, LinkUpTV, Mixtape Madness, G Shock Radio, and more.

Currently part of a cutting-edge artist development programme led by grime pioneer Jammer BBK and creative agency onRoad, Gv continues to refine his craft among a new wave of rising talent. The programme has offered him not only mentorship and resources, but also access to professional networks and industry insight, support that’s helping elevate his sound and shape his next chapter.

In 2026, Gv was selected as an Emerging Artist Resident (EAR) at UD Music’s Talent House — a competitive residency programme designed to champion the next wave of UK talent. The month-long placement provided studio access, mentorship, and direct collaboration with fellow emerging artists and producers, while embedding him within UD’s wider creative network. The residency further strengthened his industry connections and positioned him within a respected ecosystem known for developing forward-thinking UK artists.

He is also affiliated with Rising Tide, an East London arts charity that supports young creatives through workshops and mentorship. That same passion for community led him to host his own artist showcase at Hackney Picturehouse, spotlighting emerging local talent, and to perform at the Hackney Music Service Gala, representing his borough on a larger stage — opportunities that also paved the way for him to perform alongside Cleo Sol and the British music collective SAULT through his affiliation with Rising Tide.

Whether it’s a vulnerable anthem like Boring Kid, or high-energy tracks rooted in melody and flow like Malarkey, his upcoming releases will resonate with listeners who crave both authenticity and artistry.
